In 2017, I was contacted by a designer based in Dubai asking for some illustrations for wedding stationery that they were creating for a couple. The brief was quite simply to illustrate 18 gin and whisky bottles, a theme that would ride across the graphics. Each table at the reception was also be represented by one of the bottles. I was shown a style that the couple liked with a sketched, watercolour look to it. From here, I set about creating the bottles. Initially working in pen on the outlines, these were worked up on my mac and then colour fills and textures introduced using various brushes. A sophisticated, authentic look was achieved that the couple, who clearly love gin and whisky, were very happy with.
